Executive & Council of National Representatives Meetings - September 2005The next meeting of the Executive Board will be held on Saturday 24 September in Barcelona. The Council of National Representatives will be held in Room K4 Congress Centre, Barcelona on Monday 26 September, during The World Conference of Surgical Patient Care.
On- line Journal There have been unavoidable delays to the publication of the first on line journal, however it is hoped that the first issue will be on-line in February 2006. Advertising for the first journal is being sought with the assistance of Fitwise, a company specializing in selling advertising space in healthcare journals.
Commissions will be made for the first volume, but in addition, all CNR members are invited to provide a short profile (600 words) of their organization, to share with their colleagues around the world.
PNG Project - Papua New Guinea Perioperative Nurses Association are thriving and growing and thanks to J&J Australia have kindly agreed to continue support to enable Phyllis Davis to deliver a further educational workshop in Port Moresby, PNG in November 05. Pre-membership of IFPN still holds until their first draft constitution is accepted at the AGM in November.
IFPN/AORN Pre-Congress Seminar was held in New Orleans. Theme is Terrorism- Global Nursing Perspectives, and has delivered a small financial profit.
An international day will be held in Harrogate, on Monday, 10 October 2005 at the kind invitation of Association of Perioperative Practice. IFPN is delighted to announce the keynote speech will be given by Christine Hancock, immediate past President of International Council of Nurses, kindly sponsored to attend by Regent Medical Ltd.

EORNA. A meeting was held with President Junttila during NATN Congress 04. Plans for joint initiatives are being presented to EORNA Board of Directors in Madrid. November 12/13 and to CNR in Barcelona. A guideline on Patient Safety is being prepared for potential ratification.
A joint position statement is also in progress.
World Congress - Barcelona Spain. Hot topics will be discussed during the networking sessions.
International Forum is once again on the programme. IFPN thanks AORN for this opportunity to further its work and raise its profile in global perioperative nursing
Guidelines new guideline published in October 05! The guideline for Decontmination and Sterilization of Surgical Devices will be published with an educational grant kindly given by Venon Carus during AfPP. All guidelines are soon to be available from the website.
Board electionsElections will be held during CNR meeting September 05 and new Board positions of President, Treasurer and one Board Member will be announced after CNR Meeting.
